Ok, here's my concept sportscar. The model is finished for now, well sort of... Now it's time to do the scenery for it... a garage or something, I guess. The reason I uploaded it here, was because I wanted to hear (read) your opinion, before proceeding.

Btw I know, it's just VERY boring 3dsmax's scanline rendering, but I'll use Brazil R/s on the final image(s)... when the scenery is complete (god knows, when that's gonna happen).

Other screenshots (from different views) are available here: [Previews]

Recently I found animation rendering of this car, I forgot I rendered.

If somebody wants to see it, here it is

(It's a 640x480 3.1 megs .avi file, divx 5.0 codec is required).

...sorry for poor quality

__________

Some stats:

***

Modeling/designing time: 3 months (yes, three(!) months)

Modeling technique: SubD/boxm.

Polys: w/o NURMS 30 000,

w/ NURMS (iterations set to 2) 580 000...

Screenshots are made with iterations 3 resulting in approx. 1 200 000 polys.

Ok, I'll answer some questions from the comments I got:

____

* Rendertime: some 20-25 minutes (@ 2000x1500px), it's just good ol' scanline, rember? (pc - 2,56Ghz P4, with 512MB RAM)

No (raytrace)AA, just supersampling.

* Rear wheels look strange because I pulled the rims' edge a bit outwards... Similar to Lamborghini Diablo wheels, you get the idea.

* Overall design - this car represents all aspects I like in different sportscars... my idea of a perfect sportscar, if you like. That's why it has rear part like Ferrari F50... I just like it

+ I just love cars with a "mean" hood and headlights... like Viper.

Lot of guys wanted to get the materials I used on this baby... Well, here they are (pretty basic carpaint material) [link]

Daily Deviation

3D realism. A beautiful thing. Really cool, really fast not yet invented cars. Also a beautiful thing. When we combine the two of them, we get something along the lines of The Concept Sportscar, designed by the very devious mmarti. And when we end up with something like this, we give it DD, because its just very very cool. And displays excellent technical skill, great composition, etc. etc...
